Rated 5 out of 5 by pl stupid from First time I used this but it turned out good. I asked the Brewmaster at Mr. Beer what to do about a problem with my beer. I lose the foam almost as soon as it forms. Not that it matters much but Some of my friends love the stuff. I boiled 4 oz Carapils Malt in 1.5 gallons of water as per the instructions given to me and then went on to make my Coopers Preachers Hefe. It seemed to work well, but I over primed with an amount of Dex that would have been proper for ME. Foam I wanted and foam I got. But no damage was done and the beer was good. I have several more packs to use for later batches. I recommend the Carapils if your beer lacks a nice head of foam. I know it adds a bit of body also because this wheat beer was not weak and thin. It was a nice full bodied drinkable beer...and drink it I did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Thirsty One from Too Complicated for me Yet again, this is a product used with the Summer Shandy product. Too many steps for me, but that is my fault for not reading directions before opening. Mr. Beer did a great job of giving those directions, describing the product, and delivering it in a timely fashion. Sorry I could give it only 4 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FLRHCARR from A delightful taste This malt came with a recipe I purchased, M&B Cream Ale. I wanted to give my hand a try at some recipe brewing & am happy that I did. This malt is top notch stuff. I had a "taste" the other day, & recalled it was this malt. The flavor is that good. It set up & blended into the wort the way it was described to do in the recipe, & thus, produced a wonderful beverage. The packaging on this is important, because you don't want to waste any. You certainly don't want a bunch of malt dust all over the kitchen or brewing room (AKA the garage or mud room). You certainly don't want your malt going stale or worse, get moldy! You just cut the top & dump it directly into (my case) the muslin bag. There of course will be dust, but a premium muslin bag will contain that. That can be rinsed off if your recipe or style warrants that. I haven't used this malt for anything other than the intended Ale that it was purchased for, & am very happy with it. I am more than confident that it will do very well in any recipe it can lend itself to.
