This is the most popular hop for American microbreweries. It has a distinctive, fragrant, floral aroma and grapefruit character. Used in Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale.

A common commercial example of this hop in use is by Sierra Nevada Brewing in their famous Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

NET WEIGHT 1 OUNCE  | ALPHA ACID 4.5-7.5%

These hops can be used as both Bittering and Aroma hops.

For bitering, these hops are added at the beginning of the boil. Typically, this is a 60 minute boil, but since our kits already have bittering hops added, any supplemental bittering hops will be boiled for no longer than 20 minutes.

The higher the alpha acid % and the longer the hops are boiled, the more bitterness the hops will impart. When boiling hops with our kits, it is highly recommended that you add a Liquid or Dry Malt Extract Softpack to the boil, or the hops won’t leave behind any bitterness. Do NOT boil the Brewing Extract.

For aroma, these hops are added at the end of the boil, or after 1 week of fermentation for “dry-hopping”. These hops contribute the flavor and aromas to beer. When dry-hopping, be sure to sanitize the hop sack (if using one) by boiling in hot water or submerging in One-Step No-Rinse solution for a few minutes before adding the hops

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bluecloud2002 from Great flavor addition I used the cascade pellet hops to create my own version of the Horse's A** recipe, Honey Pale Ale. I like a full flavored beer. I added one package of cascade pellets hops and one cup of honey to my Northwest Pale Ale wort. I used the instructions for the Horse's A** recipe (replacing the light beer extract with the Northwest Pale Ale extract.) There result was a really wonderful full flavored beer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Artie from Needs more instruction Added a nice flavor element although I could've used more instruction when brewing with this regarding how tight to tie it as well as whether or not I was supposed to leave it in the fermenter or just use it when steeping the wort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great yet adds a strong Citrus flavor. I really liked the flavor it gave after leaving them in my fermentor, but it was more citrus-y than I was expecting. Next time I'll probably only leave it in the fermentor 1/2 the time

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Pale Ale without Cascade Hops? My son goes to college in Chico, CA and there is a local brewery there that makes extensive use of these hops in one of their popular beers. Luckily Mr. Beer offers the homebrewer an opportunity to duplicate the style. Can’t attempt it without these hops!

Rated 4 out of 5 by John B from Brew helper Great addition to basic extract recipes. The smell when you open the bag is fantastic (classic American hop aromas). One pouch added bitterness, a little aroma and some additional head retention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Montana Blue from Grab a little “zing” I’ve come to really enjoy the aroma and flavor enhancement Cascade Hops bring to my beer. Especially helpful to add a little something special to light colored recipes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tony T from Fresh and aromatic. Worked well. Hops had good aroma and seemed to be fresh. Toss em in a muslin sack to steep, give your brew a litter more character and bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from More Steps This one isn't as easy and straightforward as the first beer we bought (kit). Taste is okay, but nothing special.
