MAKES APPROX. 2 GALLONS OF BEER IN ABOUT 4 WEEKS TIME.
Suggested minimum conditioning time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Deeply rooted in the Belgian brewing tradition, Belgian-style dubbels are one of the oldest continually produced Trappist beer styles around. At their core, dubbels are malt-forward beers, displaying rich caramel and bready malts, with hints of raisin or plum. Trappist yeast strains provide depth, fruitiness and subtle spicy characteristics.
Mr.Beer's Dubbel stays true to the style's roots. It is made from pilsner, Munich and dark crystal malts with a light touch of New Zealand-grown hops for balance. This beer is light on the palate, but rich in malty, fruity and spicy flavors -- it shows just how well yeast and malt can work together in your fermenter. As with our previous Belgian-style seasonal, this brew would work well with a cup of brown sugar (or perhaps maple syrup) to lighten the body and boost the ABV.
REFILL INCLUDES:
1 Can Belgian-Style Dubbel HME
1 Packet Safbrew T-58 Dry Ale Yeast
1 Packet No-Rinse Cleanser
INGREDIENTS: MALTED TWO ROW BARLEY, WATER, HOPS AND YEAST.
Seasonal recipes contain more malt than our premium refills and produce a stronger than average all-malt beer (about 6.5% ABV). Each HME comes in a large single can 3.75 lb (1.7 kg) and will produce 8 quarts of beer. No adjuncts needed.
