Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Good Pale Ale I fermented for 14 days. No extras added other than HME, Booster, and yeast that came in the kit. I was very careful to monitor fermentation temp and yeast pitching temp. Also, practicing better sanitation with my brewing kit. I keged 1.5 gallons and bottled the rest. I tried the American Ale after 3 days forced carbonation and it wasn't bad. Let it sit for another day and what a difference. My other one gallon keg I plan to drink this weekend. Going to let the 6 pack bottle condition for at least 3 weeks. This is my 3rd brew with Mr. Beer and definitely the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ZShorter1 from Trial and success! I purchased this in June 2015 and I have brewed a few different products so I decided to start playing around with this HME. I added blackberries, blueberries, and honey throughout the process and came out with one of the best tasting beers I have had!

Rated 4 out of 5 by hooligan from Great easy to make beer ! I have brewed 5 of 6 batches of Mr. Beer. This is the easiest beer I have brewed. Of couse it is July 18 and I started brewing in December 17. I am now experimenting with partial mash and using Mr. Beer extracts as a base for other beers. I took this to a homebrewers meeting and everyone liked it. They commented they had forgotten how good beer made with extract brewing could be. I will buy this again. Thanks Mr. Beer for the new hobby.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wile E from American Ale plus my own booster...excellent! Fun, easy and best of all tasty! I added a little turbino sugar to boost the ABV. A few xtra days of conditioning made it just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brutus from A favorite!!! This was the first beer I brewed when I received a kit for my birthday. I really was not expecting too much but was so happy with the results I am now a devotee of Mr. beers products. This ale is full bodied with a nice head and good mouth feel. I ha another batch in the lbk right now. Its a winner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gumby1011 from American ale Not to bad of a beer! Had a little trouble getting it done because of bitterly cold weather in out region, i ferment and store in a dirt basement, so it took a bit longer, but qorth the wait.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from How big? Not big. I've already reviewed this, but in case you missed it, There was NO indication of the size/quantity of this product. I tried to zoom in on the photo to read a fluid ounce figure. Not legible. Took a chance. Burned. If You're going to sell products online, you had better get your act together and provide this information.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rick60 from Growing Some Kale & Drinking American Ale I use this to make a variation of Surly Dog Ale. Personally, I find the beer quite tasty and refreshing. One criticism was that it was "too heavy". Whatevs. T'is a solid beer and a great addition to the line up. I will be brewing some more soon! (PS = The kale I'm growing is the legal kind. Just saying, is all.)

The refill kit came with 2 booster packages but the direction said use 1 for 2 gallons so why are there 2 since it's a 2 gallon kit?

Asked by: ToddM
You can use one Booster or two. Both options are completely acceptable. Cheers!
