All you need is preservative-free apple cider—purchase locally or from one of our recommended online suppliers. Add your favorite flavors or keep it classic—the choice is yours.

Brewer’s Tip: Using filtered juice? It may lack the natural nutrients found in unfiltered juice with pulp. Add a small handful of raisins or dried cranberries to your fermenter to give the yeast a natural nutrient boost—no special additives needed.
Ingredients:
- 2 gal preservative-free apple cider
- 1 packet Safale S-04 dry ale yeast
- ½ cup mulling spices (in a sanitized mesh bag - Optional)
- Mr. Beer carb drops (2 per bottle)
Instructions:
- Pour cider into fermenter.
- Add yeast, mulling spices (in a mesh bag)
- Seal and ferment at 60–70°F for 10–14 days. Remove spice bag after 3–5 days for balanced flavor.
- Bottle with 2 carb drops per bottle; age 2 weeks.
- Chill and enjoy your spiced hard cider!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 gal apple cider
- 0.5 gal fresh pear juice
- 2″ fresh ginger, sliced
- 3 cinnamon sticks or 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 packet Safale S-04 dry ale yeast
- Mr. Beer carb drops (2 per bottle)
Instructions:
- Mix ciders and add spices.
- Add yeast and optional nutrient.
- Ferment 10–14 days at 60–70°F.
- Rack off spice sediment and let rest 2 more days.
- Bottle with 2 carb drops per bottle; age 2 weeks.
Ingredients:
- 1.75 gal apple cider
- 0.25 gal 100% mixed berry juice (look for raspberry, blueberry, or cranberry with no added preservatives)
- 1 packet Safale S-04 dry ale yeast
- Mr. Beer carb drops (2 per bottle)
Instructions:
- Combine juices and add yeast and optional nutrient.
- Ferment 10–14 days at 60–70°F.
- Bottle with 2 carb drops per bottle; age 2 weeks.
- Serve chilled.
