Pop goes the cherry with this new pear cider. Made with the same cherries that are in cordials, they really shine when paired with tart pear flavors, and off set with caramel notes provided by the brown sugar. Who needs a sundae when you have a glass of this cheery cider?

    Better than expected...

At first taste this one had an astringent flavor I didn't like. However with some conditioning the flavor really mellows out and it becomes a really nicely flavored beverage that your wife will like as much as you do. This isn't some alcopop so if you want an adult cherry Kool Aid I wouldn't recommend this. This is a semi-dry perry with just the right amount of sweetness. The pear and golden cherry flavors complement each other perfectly and one doesn't dominate the other. As good as anything I've made from Mr.Beer. If you want to try something different give this a try. I'll warn you about one thing though; ciders and perrys really take their time about carbonating; they take at least three weeks to get there sometimes longer.

    Dry tart refreshing

Interesting recipe. If you are looking for a sweet hard cider this is not the recipe for you. The finished product is very dry and quite tart. Refreshing when it is cold. Despite the can of pureed cherries I can detect no cherry flavor. I may give this recipe another try.

    not what i expected

I made this expecting it to be more like a malt beverage you know the cooler type drinks they make. Mikes Hard Redds Apple Ale things like that. With a name like Cherry Pairy I thought it would be sweeter and fruity. It tasted like bland champagne. Thats the best description I can give it and others agreed. The was zero cherry flavor for using a hole can and the syrup I expected more. This was my first cider and I doubt I will make any more.
