PROFILE:

Just like the Velociraptor name implies, this brew will swiftly seize you with its soft, fruit flavors and velvety, malt background. This deep mahogany ale with red undertones has a subtle, roasted malt character that brings notes of chocolate and caramel. Sharp, fruity raspberry flavor balances the sweet malt - all culminating in a dry finish.

FOR FANS OF:

Raspberry Red Ale - High Sierra Brewing Co. Wild Raspberry Ale - Great Divide Brewing Co.

RECIPE INCLUDES:

WARNING: Due to the large amount of fruit, your keg may overflow or explode! Maintaining proper fermentation temperatures is key to preventing this problem. (See brewing instructions for details).

    Super Fruity

I made this according to instruction but I had some fruit that needed to be eaten. So I pureed it with the can of cherries and gave it an extra week to ferment. And now I'm trying a growler of after 30 days of bottling. It's good but came out kinda winey. :) LOL! Can't wait until 3 more months of if conditioning probably be a one hitta quieter!

    Still my favorite recipe :)

This beer was the tastiest I've made. I'll have to make a substitute this summer. (Wonder if it will attract murder hornets.)

    Great flavor fan favorite

I have brewed this twice and am getting ready to brew another batch. Everyone that has tried it said it is one of the best I have made. I think I have tried just about every style Mr. Beer sells and this one always gets great reactions.

    Best brew I've made yet

Not sure if I just did things really right or this is one great brew but this was the best one I have made to date. Liked it so much that my 2 gallon brew was gone way too fast. Highly recommend it.

    Newbie mistake turned good

So I had planned to make a different recipe ( schwarz bier ) but didn't notice the fermentation temperature was lower than I could hold. The main ingredients for this one are the same with a different yeast so I thought I would make the base for this with the hops from the other but without the fruit ( not a fan of fruity beers ). Then one of the featured recipes gave me an idea. I took oak chips and soaked them in a Sweet Manhattan. I added the chips along with the cherries and the 3oz manhattan after 1st week of fermentation for a total cycle of 3/3/3. This turned out amazing slight hint of cherry with a noticeable kick from the bourbon.
