Your Brew Breakdown

Everything you need to craft your perfect brew

STORY

Overview: Royal Juice NEIPA is a juicy New England-style IPA brewed with Coopers Light UME, Pale DME, Pilsen Malt, Carapils, oat flakes, Simcoe hops, Mosaic hops, Amarillo hops, and S-33 yeast. It delivers big hop aroma, soft body, low bitterness, and a smooth 6.26% finish.

PROFILE

Tasting Notes: Expect a hazy, hop-forward IPA with citrus, tropical fruit, stone fruit, and berry-like hop notes. Oat flakes, Carapils, and Pilsen Malt add a soft body, while the bitterness stays restrained for a juicy NEIPA-style finish.

IMPORTANT BREWING NOTE

Dry Hop Note: This recipe uses two dry-hop additions during fermentation. Mosaic and Amarillo hops are added on day 7 and again on day 10 to build the juicy aroma expected from a New England-style IPA.

Ingredient Note: The brewing instructions list 2 packets of Simcoe hops. Update the product detail to match the instructions.

    Not a NEIPA

This was supposed to be a NEIPA. Was supposed to be hazy light colored juice bomb. What I ended up with was what I would describe as a red IPA. It is a bright red color and quite clear and is also quite bitter without the tropical fruit notes described on your website. ...but I believe I know why...I followed the instructions which provide very little water for a one hour boil so at the end of the boil what was left was very nearly as thick as the extract from the can. I might try making this again but I will do a full boil with all of the water and chill the wort with my wort chiller to get to pitching temp.

Great recipe with lots of carbonation

Waiting this a day after I tried it. Great taste and flavor with not much bitterness. Only thing I would improve was the hop taste. It seemed kind of light like too much water was added.

    Too much carbonation

Maybe not a fair review but an accurate one. 2 carbonation drops was too much for 740mLs. When I opened my 1st bottle it erupted. All foam and sediment. Barely got half a glass. I opened the 2nd one over 15 minutes and same thing with each turn of the cap. The beer tasted terrible but I’m sure it would have been better if the directions for carbonation were accurate. I’ve made the 500mL bottles and they take 1 drop. Not sure why 740mLs was 2. I can’t find the 500mLs on Mr. Beer any longer and the customer support said I could cut the tablets in half for 740. I might try the recipe again but it was pricey. Wish the directions were accurate. This probably holds true for all the recipes that include 740mL proportions.

    Non-IPA lover's IPA

I am not at all an IPA lover but this was still a wonderful beer. I have zero complaints about it. My friends absolutely loved it. Fantastic beer.
