Rated 5 out of 5 by MightyKTC from Gold Standard of the Basic Refills So there's two ways to go with Mr. Beer -- get some of the fancier recipes from the site that are a little pricier but often tastier than the standard refills, or go with the standard refills if you're just looking for some basic beers. Some of the standard reviews like Classic American Light or Blonde leave a little bit to be desired as far as taste goes when they are brewed as is, but I've found the St. Patrick's Irish Stout to be a REALLY good substitute for a Guinness considering the price and how easy it is to make. Smooth, pitch black, slight head, a little bit of lacing left along the glass. Just a really great beer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JD Brews from Worth the Wait! A fantastic brew of its ilk! I have enjoyed this great and easy Stout, but have difficulty and yet great satisfaction in waiting for brewing and conditioning time. Once the 3 or 4 weeks of chilled wait are over, there's little risk of the wonderful taste going bad before you and sharers have finished the batch! Several small bottles for trials during conditioning may save more for the 'ripe' enjoyment. Anxious for a chocolate twist on this to come out of the bottle!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Millen from Versatile Base I have used this beer for a lot of recipes. It is very versatile that way. I have made everything from a spicy stout to a chocolate strawberry stout (which was awesome) with this beer. It's also good without adding anything though I usually use a booster to up the ABV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KevinM from My ‘go to’ stout This is my ‘go to’ stout. I love the great blend of chocolate and coffee flavors without being overpowering. I’ve learned to let this one condition a little longer. It’s more than worth the wait!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sawbone from Stout I added 1/2 cup of molasses to the wort. Took some of the bitterness off of it. The addition also made it stronger and darker. Great brew.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve S from St. Patrick’s Irish Stout I never used to like dark beer until I tried the Winter Dark. Then I tried the St Patrick’s Irish Stout. Was surprised at how much I liked it. It isn’t really heavy in my opinion and the flavor is just right. Not bitter with just the right amount of sweetness. Very smooth to drink. Have made two batches so far and am about to purchase more. Give this one a try if you haven’t yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by nickyray from Good Beer, but Not my favorite I bought this beer a few months ago and brewed it right after I had received it. It brewed very well and very easily. It was a fairly tasty beer, but not one of my favorites that I have had so far! I would still recommend this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Deb T from Cherry Irish Bite I'm not a big stout person BUT I wanted to try this. I brewed it with cherry juice and one small pasillo-ancho pepper - I love the smoky flavors added by the peppers so I'm looking forward to trying this!

Why not a No-Rinse Cleanser Packet with the St Patrick's Irish Stout refill kit? Boo.

Asked by: dave18
Hi there Dave03, All of our refills come with No-Rinse Cleanser. I believe what you may be looking at is our Brewing Extract, which is just a can of our St. Patrick's Irish Stout. Find the refill here: http://www.mrbeer.com/refills/standard-refills/st-patrick-s-irish-stout-standard-refill
