Your Brew Breakdown

Everything you need to craft your perfect brew

STORY

Overview: Coopers Bootmaker Pale Ale is inspired by Thomas Cooper’s early days as a bootmaker in Kensington, Adelaide, before he turned his hand to brewing. This 5-gallon refill brings that heritage into an American-style pale ale with rich amber color, smooth malt character, citrus-pine hop aroma, and a refreshing bitter finish.

PROFILE

Tasting Notes: Expect a rich amber pour with toffee malt flavor, citrus and pine hop aromas, a refreshing bitter finish, and a thick creamy head. It is hoppy, balanced, and flavorful while still easy to enjoy by the pint.

WHAT YOU GET

  • Ingredient: 1 Can Coopers Bootmaker Pale Ale Brewing Extract (HME)
  • Ingredient: 1 Packet Dry Brewing Yeast under the lid
  • Ingredient: 3 Boxes Coopers Light Dry Malt
  • Ingredient: 1 Packet Coopers Carbonation Drops
  • Ingredient: 2 Packets No-Rinse Cleanser

IMPORTANT BREWING NOTE

Batch Size Note: For the flavor and ABV listed on this product page, top off your fermenter to the 5-gallon / 19-liter mark.
Optional Volume Note: If your fermenter holds more volume, you can add water up to 23 liters / 6 gallons. This will produce more beer, but the flavor, body, bitterness, and ABV will be lighter.

Carbonation and Conditioning: 3–4 weeks

Conditioning Note: Additional conditioning can help the toffee malt, citrus-pine hop aroma, bitterness, and finish smooth out.

WHY THIS REFILL

Why Brew It: This 5-gallon refill is a great choice for brewers who want a hoppy American-style pale ale with rich amber malt character, citrus and pine hop aroma, and a refreshing bitter finish in a larger-format batch.

Best compliment I would buy this beer!

Have made this brew twice! First time produced excellent product. Second time not quite as satisfying. Both brews presented some new to me experience with getting the dry malt extract into solution. Tried not to worry about the wort…haha. But on account of cooler ambient temperature in New England the second brew took longer to achieve stable SG and the ferment was just not as vigorous.
