Your Brew Breakdown

Everything you need to craft your perfect brew

STORY

Overview: Coopers Brew A IPA is inspired by Thomas Cooper’s first recorded brew, marked “A” in his 1862 brewing log. This 5-gallon refill carries that heavier ale tradition into an American-style IPA with deep amber color, tropical citrus aroma, grapefruit notes, toasty malt balance, and a clean bitter finish.

PROFILE

Tasting Notes: Expect a full-bodied IPA with deep amber and reddish hues, tropical and citrusy hop aroma, grapefruit notes, toasty amber malt, and a clean hop-filled bitter finish. It is bold, hoppy, and balanced by enough malt character to keep each pint smooth.

WHAT YOU GET

  • Ingredient: 1 Can Coopers Brew A IPA Brewing Extract (HME)
  • Ingredient: 1 Packet Dry Brewing Yeast under the lid
  • Ingredient: 3 Boxes Coopers Light Dry Malt
  • Ingredient: 1 Packet Coopers Carbonation Drops
  • Ingredient: 2 Packets No-Rinse Cleanser

BREW SPECS

Style: IPA
Flavor: Hoppy, tropical, citrusy, malty, and bitter
Original Gravity: 1.046
Final Gravity: 1.010
ABV: 5%
Batch Size: 5 gallons / 19 liters

IMPORTANT BREWING NOTE

Batch Size Note: For the flavor and ABV listed on this product page, top off your fermenter to the 5-gallon / 19-liter mark.
Optional Volume Note: If your fermenter holds more volume, you can add water up to 23 liters / 6 gallons. This will produce more beer, but the flavor, body, bitterness, and ABV will be lighter.

BREW TIME

Fermentation: About 2 weeks
Carbonation and Conditioning: 3–4 weeks
Best Enjoyed: After 5–7 weeks total
Conditioning Note: Additional conditioning can help the hop bitterness, toasted malt, citrus aroma, and finish smooth out.

WHY THIS REFILL

Why Brew It: This 5-gallon refill is a great choice for brewers who want a bold American-style IPA with tropical citrus character, grapefruit notes, toasty amber malt, and a clean bitter finish in a larger-format batch.

If you like a strong hoppy flavor this IPA is not for you.
