Your Brew Breakdown

Everything you need to craft your perfect brew

STORY

Overview: 5400 Second IPA is a bold, high-gravity IPA inspired by one of America’s most famous 90-minute IPAs. It is brewed with Canadian Blonde, Classic American Light, and Grand Bohemian Czech Pilsner Brewing Extracts, plus Booster, Safale US-05 yeast, and a heavy hop schedule featuring Glacier, Warrior, Amarillo, and Simcoe hops.

PROFILE

Tasting Notes: Expect a strong malt backbone with fullness and caramel flavor, intense bitterness, heavy pine and citrus hop aroma, and a bold IPA finish.

IMPORTANT BREWING NOTE

Fermentation Note: This recipe has a lot of fermentables. Place your fermenter somewhere safe in case foam or liquid escapes during fermentation.

Best way to spend an hour and a half (5400 sec.)

Each Mr. Beer recipe I've tried has been a little more complex and they've all been great. This batch was outstanding and it was ready for drinking right around the holidays - so I was able to get some taste testers - and to be honest the homebrew came out on top. Great work by Zach Manchester on this clone - and for the helpful staff at Mr. Beer.
