    API

Turned out less hoppy than I prefer and more malty than I prefer. I max out at 2 12 oz. per sitting.

We are sorry to hear it did not quite meet expectations! In the future if you are after a bit more bitterness You can increase your boil volume from the initial 4 cups to 6! This will lower the gravity of the boil and allow the hops to release a bit more of their bittering Alpha acids. Cheers!

Working in IT like the dual meanings in this name

This beer came out very dark. I am wondering if the HME carmalized in the pot while adding it. However had friends over to try 3 of my Mr. Beer creations and they all choose this one as their favorite. One person described it as having a flavor such as a barley wine. I was really looking more for the bitterness aspect of this as it had an IBU of 99. Will probably try this one again in the future to see if I can impact the color by changing up the process a bit.

    Honey IPA API

This is one of my favorite beers from Mr. Beer. I brew it differently I place the sacked hops in the water as it is heated boiling them for about 5-8 minutes. During the last two minutes I put a cup of honey in the pan. I use the rest of the ingredients as listed. When I fill the barrel I use very cool water. This batch has a lot of sugars in it so you MUST keep the temperature during fermentation in the low 60's F.

Not Bad But Not What I Expected

This beer comes out considerably darker than the photo. More like a brown hoppy ale. Not bad but not like the IPA I expected.
