Honey Note: The honey is mixed with 4 cups of water, brought to a boil, then removed from heat before the brewing extract and Pale LME are added.

Yeast Note: This recipe uses the dry brewing yeast packet from under the lid of the Brewing Extract.

    Most Delicious

    This is one easy beer recipe to brew & the rewards are grand. Soft smooth with a decent head as you can see. I pour it so I can have a full glass of beer with just a little head. You can enjoy this from the bottle too which is often how I like them. Pictured is one of the original quart bottles.This is a very nice sipping beer. Though you certainly can chug it down to get some quick refreshment. It feels good on your tongue & really makes you want to take another sip it is that pleasing. I knew that it would be when I sipped it from the beer thief at bottling time. You'll want to get started on your next batch so you have some on reserve.I'm not a sit on it home beer maker. I like it done & ready. I don't see that as a problem with this brew at all. I do imagine that letting it age a bit or even sit in the fridge will make it all the more smooth & refined. This is the recipe for Dad's Cream Ale using the kit. I haven't tried American Lager on it's own recently.I am very happy with how far along Mr. Beer has come over the years. The instructions have always been easy but the recent attention to detail they have to the ingredients in the HME & LME as well as the recipes does make it more fun to brew my own private stock of premium beer (Ale Pilsner & so on). This recipe is no exception. It was super easy to do.So far all of the packaging allows me to rinse them out & not waste any ingredients or flavor. I really appreciate that.

    Wonderful body refreshing!

    Better than off the shelf brews! An excellent sit-on-the-deck refresher. Let this beer mature for four weeks. It gets better with time. Use an alfalfa honey if you can. This is an easy can't miss brew. Share and relax!

    Dad's favorite cream ale

    Followed the recipe and it made a great cream ale. I'm 80 years old and like a nice mild tasting beer and this hits the spot also a nice buss.

    Best Brew Yet

    Best brew that I have made to date. I added some lactose to the recipe. Next time I will go with a full cup of honey.
