    Great Mexican style Beer!!!

I bought this about 2 months ago because the store sells an chili beer that I love so I thought I would give this a try. WOW is all I can say this is right up my alley. Nice hint of jalapeños that will numb your lips after a few! I like the hint of lime which I also serve it with a lime wedge. The wife was not a big fan of it but this just isn't her type of beer. If you like jalapeños lime and beer? This is the beer for you!!! I really enjoy it an can not wait to share it with my dad....

    Spice

This beer has a solid base. I keep coming back to this beer because I can control what kind a chilies to use and how much. I tend to prefer less spicy but again it can be made how you want. This is also one of the simpler beers to brew.

    Very nice with some alterations

Like most people I altered the recipe a bit. I added my extras 3 days after the initial fermentation. I thought 5 jalapenos might be a bit too hot so I used 3 large ones. I get a lot of pepper taste but the heat didn't come through too much. I could have used more. I used the zest of 4 key limes added the juice of 2 of them and threw the squeezed limes into the muslin bag as well. The lime taste comes through very well in the final product.

    Spicy Without the Unbearable Heat

This is my second time brewing this recipe & both came out better than expected! I used 5 large mature jalapenos from my garden this time & was afraid it would end up too hot like my Chili Fest Porter. I like spicy food & drink but only to a certain pain threshold! This had a nice jalapeno bite with only moderate heat. The lime balanced the flavor nicely. It only had to condition a couple weeks to be good but it seems to improve with each passing week. Highly recommended!

    Jalapeno Overload

This is a beer for the right person. I have some good friends that love this beer and others who couldn't finish it. I used 4 large jalapeno's and man they are prevelant in this beer. I would suggest cutting back or using smaller peppers if you want only a little kick of heat and jalapeno flavor. The lime helps with the overall flavor. Just be careful with the jalapeno's!
