Your Brew Breakdown

Everything you need to craft your perfect brew

STORY

Overview: Irish Demise Imperial Stout is a bold dark ale brewed with Coopers Dark UME, Smooth DME, Carapils Malt, Munich Malt, Black Malt, Mt. Hood hops, and Nottingham yeast. It delivers deep malt flavor, roasty complexity, full body, and a powerful 8.03% finish.

PROFILE

Tasting Notes: Expect a full-bodied dark beer with smooth malt depth, roasted grain character, subtle chocolate-like notes, light bitterness, and a clean finish. Cold-steeped grains help keep the dark malt profile smoother and less harsh.

IMPORTANT BREWING NOTE

Cold Steep Note: This recipe uses a 24-hour cold steep for the Carapils, Munich Malt, and Black Malt before brew day. Plan ahead so the grains have time to steep overnight before brewing.

High-Gravity Note: This is a strong 8.03% ABV recipe. Give it the full fermentation time and plan for additional conditioning so the roast, malt body, and alcohol warmth can smooth out.

    Fantastic

If you walk into a pub and ask for a pint of the black stuff you will enjoy the Irish Demise. I haven't let this one age and condition beyond 48 hours but it is fantastic after 48 hrs. Only received 4 stars because Mr. Beer lists it out of stock. Keep in stock and I'll give it 5. The recipe is for the novice home brewer.

    Looking forward to tasting this

I have not had the opportunity to taste this yet and by reading some of the reviews this will be ready a few weeks after St. Patrick’s Day but I’ll be ready to enjoy when the time comes.

    Great Beer

Put this beer on nitro! Really great home brew. I would only do slight tweaks to my preferences. If you want a great N/A beer just boil out the alcohol.

    Great Tasting Stout

I made this a few months ago and I prefer to have stouts in the bottle at least 4 months before I taste them. When I tasted it I loved it. I have brewed a lot of different styles of Mr Beer (lot of Porters and Stouts which I prefer) I haven't had a bad beer some I prefer more than others. I usually give a friend the newest brew to get his opinion his comment was this us your best brew yet. I may be biased to my own brews but he confirmed what I had already thought. I was glad that I had the foresight to buy 2 of them at the time.
