Everything you need to craft your perfect brew

STORY

Overview: Not Plato’s Brut IPA is a dry, champagne-like IPA brewed with Classic American Light Brewing Extract, BrewMax Booster, Cascade hops, US-05 yeast, and Beano tablets. It is built to finish extremely dry while showcasing floral and citrus hop character, crisp bitterness, and a sparkling 5.5% finish.

PROFILE

Tasting Notes: Expect a very dry, crisp IPA with light body, floral Cascade hop aroma, citrus notes, clean bitterness, and a champagne-like finish. It is bright, refreshing, and much drier than a traditional IPA.

IMPORTANT BREWING NOTE

Beano Note: This recipe uses 2 Beano tablets to help create the extremely dry Brut IPA finish. Add the tablets to the fermenter before adding the wort, as directed.

Yeast Note: Use the included US-05 yeast for fermentation. The dry brewing yeast under the lid of the Brewing Extract is not used for this recipe.

Hop Note: This recipe uses two Cascade hop additions. The first hop sack is boiled for 10 minutes, and the second hop sack is added at flameout before the wort goes into the fermenter.

    Nice lighter IPA

This is a lighter IPA when it comes to IBU level but has a good flavor with enough bitterness to suit. I found it to be a smooth beer that I enjoy with different food dishes or just to enjoy on its own. It’s a great price and easy to brew so I’ll be brewing this one again. Plus I made a fun label for the bottles too so this one is in my library.

    Pretty decent brew.

This brew is pretty decent. It comes out as hoppy and citrusy with a dry like quality to it.

    Another great light IPA

I’ve found I like this one young and aged a little bit. After 2 1/2 weeks I really liked it. Very light and crisp and the hoppy flavor was predominant. Texture like champagne. But this is one of the few IPAs that I like better with a little age. At 5 weeks still the same crisp hoppy flavor but more pronounced IPA-type bitterness. Still had that champagne texture but much more balanced and tastes less like a light beer and more like a good IPA. Like a session IPA.
