Everything you need to craft your perfect brew

STORY

Overview: Pennsylvania Chocolate Porter is a sweet chocolate porter brewed with American Porter Brewing Extract, Smooth LME, Chocolate Malt, Crystal 40, Crystal 60, cocoa nibs, lactose, Hershey’s cocoa powder, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, vodka, and S-04 yeast. It delivers rich chocolate flavor, dark malt depth, creamy sweetness, and a smooth 4.75% finish.

PROFILE

Tasting Notes: Expect a sweet porter with layered chocolate flavor, roasted malt character, caramel malt depth, creamy lactose body, and a smooth finish. Cocoa powder and boiled cocoa nibs build chocolate depth on brew day, while the day-7 chocolate syrup and second cocoa nib addition boost aroma and dessert-like flavor.

IMPORTANT BREWING NOTE

Chocolate Addition Note: One packet of cocoa nibs is boiled for 5 minutes on brew day with cocoa powder and lactose. The second packet of cocoa nibs is added on day 7 with Hershey’s chocolate syrup thinned with vodka.

Yeast Note: Use the included S-04 yeast for this recipe. Do not use the yeast packet from under the Brewing Extract lid.

    Becoming my favorite

Very good brew! A little time consuming to make but we'll worth the effort. 17 days in the fermenter and 8 weeks conditioning before the fridge and you've got yourself a great tasting beer.

Smooth great tasting with a little coffee

I tried this kit last year because I really like porter beer but before bottling I added a few ounces of pecan praline coffee it was delicious and much better than store bought porters.

    Smooth hint of cocoa

For my first recipe I was pleasantly surprised how smooth this porter went down. A nice hint of cocoa is just incredible.

    Irish Cream Porter is next.

Mr Beer, you are my new best friend.

Similar to Yuengling Hershey Porter ... Yeah!!

I haven't brewed this yet but am eager to do so. I will as soon as my fermenter finishes the current batch. I really like Yuengling Hershey Porter. This is supposed to be close. Yuengling Hershey Porter is hard to find. In fact it may no longer be made.
