PROFILE:

Angry Bovine Milk Stout is one of our most beloved beer recipes, so we figured with Valentine’s Day just around the corner – why not bring some romance to that pouty old cow? Since Valentine’s (or pretty much any other day you want!) is all about love and decadent chocolate goodies, we thought tart cherries to pair with the cacao nibs could make our velvety milk stout even more seductive. No smooth jazz required, Smitten Bovine Milk Stout is sure to set the mood come February 14th. With its bold flavors of milk chocolate and roasted malts, this milk stout is very similar to our "Angry Bovine" recipe, but with the fruity twist of red tart cherries. These cherries add a subtle tartness that compliments the sweetness of the lactose sugar giving you a creamy full-bodied stout that would go great with cake or pie, or even as a dessert on its own. (WARNING: Not recommended for those who are lactose intolerant.)

    The wife LOVED it!

I bought this recipe back in Nov 2018 brewed it in Jan 2019 & popped the first bottle in late March 2019 (I like to let my brews to sit for a bit). I bought & used just one can of the Oregon Red Tart Cherries from Wegmans (? I think) and added them (pureed) one week after the wort first went into the LBK.This was DELICIOUS! I bought the incredients to make it again and am going to try TWO cans. The wife said she thinks it might taste even better with some more Cherry so - we'll see. FWIW: Had to buy a whole CASE (8 cans) from Amazon as I couldn't find single cans. The only issue I had was that my bottles - I used the plastic ones from my kit - gushed like crazy..... I used 4 Domino sugar dots / bottle but obviously that was too much. Will knock the amount of priming sugar down this time. I'm off work for a couple weeks (due to the whole COVID19 hysteria) so will brew this one again this upcoming week.Cheers!

    Wow

Brewed this in May I believe. In the meantime I moved so i was really distracted and busy with. Ormal movimg amd renovating things. Come the end of December cracked one open and wow this by far is the best tasting beer brewed (and I've brewed plenty). Patience is definitely a virtue with this one.

    Really good.

This was my 3rd brew with Mr. Beer. I got the kit as a Christmas gift from my girlfriend. I personally think I over carbonated about half of my batch but the other half came out great. Really smooth and smells terrific!

    Smooth drinking.

Easy to brew. Would put it in secondary fermentation when adding the cherries the next time. Tastes good. Good beer
