Designed in honor of the beer style born out of the Gold Rush years in California, this is a classic example of “steam beer" or California Common as they are called today. Steam beers were created when German brewers moved to California in the mid 1800's schlepping along with them their lager yeast, only to realize they had no means of refrigeration to lager their beer. Time is your friend!

This is another example of time being your friend with Mr. Beer recipes. I followed the 3-3-4 and was happy. I decided to go another 3 weeks in my cellar. Much cooler down there. Wow much better. Nice and smooth with a hoppy finish. Good recipe made great with time.
