Crystal hops are a very versatile low alpha acid variety that is great in light ales and lagers such as blondes, golden ales, and pale ales, but it can also be used in stouts and porters. It has a combination of woody, green, and some floral notes with some herb and spice character.
A common commercial example of this hop in use is by Rogue Brewing in their Rogue’s Bitter IPA (Formerly known as “Brutal Bitter”).

These hops are added at the end of the boil, or after 1 week of fermentation for “dry-hopping”. These hops contribute the flavor and aromas to beer. When dry-hopping, be sure to sanitize the hop sack (if using one) by boiling in hot water or submerging in One-Step No-Rinse solution for a few minutes before adding the hops
