Hallertau is known for a pleasant and mild spicy floral bouquet, making it a superior aroma hop. One of Germany's noble hop varieties, it works well in lagers of all types, wheat beers, and most pale and amber ales.
A common commercial example of this hop in use is within any brew by Hofbräu München.

These hops are added at the end of the boil, or after 1 week of fermentation for “dry-hopping”. These hops contribute the flavor and aromas to beer.
