Rated 4 out of 5 by gr62063 from hot water or cold? doesnt seem to matter directions for booster used to call for mixing in cold water, now all the recipes call for adding with the HME into hot water. What's the deal. New size allows for better flexibiity and therefore is good. I have a batch made with 2 of the 12oz boosters because the directions changed and didnt mention the new size, so I'll see how that comes out. Otherwise, booster is ok, I've only noticed it making one batch (Chug a Lugger) seem thick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MrHighLife from Easy to use I have just added one 6.25 ounce package into a beer mix I have not tried before, so I will not be able to tell the overall effect. However; after reading the reviews, I can say it was not hard to use at all. I added the contents to the 4 quarts of water used for making the wort. It clumped up immediately, but patiently stirred over a period of about ten minutes and the mixture broke apart and eventually dissolved completely. This was before boiling the water and then adding the extract, so I am sure that once the water had reached boiling, the remaining clumps would have dissolved.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ohio from Smaller Size The new smaller size of booster is less convenient than the older, larger, size for me. I now buy twice as many to get the same amount. It is still the same product which I like and use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Berny from what is it? I got it with no instructions, there is no mention in the directions and I have no idea what to do with it after reading the blog. It would be nice if I put it in the search engine for mr beer and it would tell me what to do with it. Even the page that says more information has NOTHING on it for how to use. I am gonna try to dump it in the wort and see what happens. initially since it is sugar I thought to use it when bottling but i get the impression to use it early. Hope nothing is runied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Malashka from Confusing for a newbee I've got it "free" with a refill I ordered and was confused what it was at all, booster to boost what? My confidence as a brew maker haha? :D It would be nice to have some at least basic instructions on the site about how to use it. Plus, everyone is mentioning about the "old style", "new style" - what? Now it's even more confusing! I've got 2 Boosters like 2 months ago, I assume they are the "new style" ones? Thanks.

What is the max amount of boosters you can add to a 2 gallon batch?

2. If you add more than 2, you should increase your yeast pitch. Cheers!

Which is it, .65% or 1.3%? I have the gold package that weighs NET WEIGHT 6.25 OUNCES (177 GRAMS). The package says it adds 1.3%. Your note says the new packaging adds only .65% but shows the same weight. Thanks

Asked by: cmgroden
Hello, One packet adds .65% and two packets add 1.3%. I hope that helps! Cheers!

I am brewing a gluten free stout. The instructions say to add Maltodextrin at the end of the boil. Can booster be added instead of Maltodextrin? And if so, how much for a 2 gallon batch?

Asked by: Rainman50
Booster contains a small amount of Maltodextrin but will not replace the maltodextrin in this recipe. Cheers!

Recieved two brewmax boosters with each refill but instruction says use one pack with 2 gal? Do i use one and a half packs with your 3 gal fermentor or just use both packs?

Asked by: Ray H
Hello, We used to package these as one, we have split in into two, in recent years. It's still the same amount, however. In a standard refill, both would be used. Cheers!
