Excellent!
This was my second beer with Mr. Beer and when I tried it I said to myself -- if every beer from Mr. Beer could be this good, I would be very happy! Pours a nice dark amber color with a solid head and leaves a fair amount of lacing along the glass. Definitely ferment for 21 days and condition for 28. Malty with a nice kick to it -- perfect amount of carbonation. I usually add *slightly* less sugar than Mr. Beer recommends to put in each bottle when bottling, and I'm always really pleased with the results. Perfect fall beer!

Great ale. Smooth LME AMPS IT UP
This is my third time to brew this LME. I get anothe LME smooth and make it the the deluxe. Ferment 1.5 weeks and secondary ferment for another week. Bottle condition 4 weeks and crazy good brew. Always order the additional LME with them and it amps it up. I use dark brown sugar for priming and it adds more complexity and a bit of darker ale flavor. Happy brewing

my kind of dark beer
I have brewed Oktoberfest deluxe three times now. I have generally nt likeddarker beers, but have fallen in love with this brew. It has a smooth taste, with just enough after taste that does not get stuck in the back of my throat. I trully have enjoyed it and my wife has aquied a taste for it also. It is on my too keep in stock as a regular beer in the fridge.

Could not stop drinking it
It had a slight apple flavor, likely due to some mistake I made on brewing, but still delicious! I kept trying to let the bottles condition longer, but next thing I knew they were all gone.

Octoberfest Lager -A good beer
Octoberfest Lager- I normally brew this recipe as a real lager. I use S23 or W34/70. I add 1# Pilsner DME. I never use the booster or sugar. It is quite good without adding more hops. I have added one of the Nobel hops mostly for the flavor or aroma. While it takes a lot longer to brew a real lager, it is worth the effort and long wait. As a lager it is a nice smooth beer with the malt flavor and light hops.

Octoberfest
Made a great Octoberfest. It was exactly what I was expecting. My sixth or seventh beer and best yet.

Great German lager (if you let it age a bit)
Brewed 2 weeks, let sit in bottles 2 more weeks. Tried it and it was not even fair. I thought I'd let it sit in the bottles another week or two before tossing it all down the drain, and I am glad I did. It is now like a German lager with a caramel, light citrus, smooth flavor. I have no idea how 1 additional week of finishing has made such a difference.

Add Cherries!
I have brewing this lager for a long time that every fall it's a tradition now for me to brew this. However, I add sweet cherries to it or tweak it a little further with chocolate AND cherries. My cherry oktoberfest is a great brew to have at the end of a chilly fall day.

I mixed up the yeast packet with the standard Lager. Does anyone know the right # on the gold packet for each or either?
All gold packets out of the Mr. Beer cans are the same yeasts.
Cheers!
