Spigot
The big issue on the spigot is the washer. The washer is not malleable enough to seal. I leaking issues and had another fermenter with new spigot and washer and had the same leaking issue. I ended up using a food grade silicone washer that had a tighter fit and sealed perfectly the first time.
Overall the spigot worked well the washer was the only issue. Only other suggestion is to add another 1 inch or so to the spout on the spigot. I do not use a bottling wand so another inch would make it a bit easier for bottling.

Seal Leaks
I hadn't brewed in a couple years, so I bought a new spigot to ensure I had a good seal. Boy I was wrong. I brewed my batch, started filling the fermenter with ice and water. When I added the wort, I noticed it all over the counter. Upon cleaning up the mess, I noticed the spigot was leaking. I ended up having to dump it down the drain as I had no way to tighten it. After dumping it, I tried changing up the spigot seal, to no success. Not sure what to do now.

On Stop Off
Either I don't get it, or I need to try it later.
I put this petcock on my old fermenter, to use with the new wand to ease filling. I wasn't successful.
I had to go back to using my old hose method. Which I was successful with.
The problem that I was having, is that the beer stopped flowing after a few inches into the bottle. I did try having more angle, less angle & no angle. I couldn't get it to fill the bottle. So I modified the wand end (Which fits very well), to my filling hose, so I could bottle my brew.
The nozzle is nice, in that it turns off or has a partial off (midway), which will facilitate faster bottling. That is, compared to my press & hold petcock. So if you're a fan of turn to flow spigot for bottling, this is a great one to have. Like all Mr. Beer items, it works very well, & expect to have it for many years.

Washer issues
This is my third year of using the Mr Beer brewing barrel. I love the product but I keep having the same issue with it, the gasket on the spigot is very hard to get a tight seal. It's frustrating and time consuming for the trial and testing the barrel for leaks. I've reordered several spigots just to get new gaskets. It would be nice if I could just reorder the gaskets by themselves.

Small item, HUGE improvement!
This new locking spigot is a HUGE improvement over the one on my older model of brew keg. The old one with the push value was a pain, especially when the keg got low as it was hard not to keep the keg from moving around and stirring up the sediment. Bottling has become a less stressful process.

Great Spigot to replace an older one
I bought this to replace an older white spigot that came with an older LBK that I had acquired. For the LBK I had, it fit perfectly and allowed me to replace the older/leaky (from the inside, not the cask seal) spigot. It also works with the bottling want whereas the original did not.

Don't waste your time.
I've gone through several of these spigots since I got my 2 gallon kit. Every single one leaks.....some from the spout, some from the barrel seal, some from everywhere. Pic: Brand new spigot, just filled the barrel an hour ago.

Works Great!
They work great as replacement spigots on my Mr Beer LBKs. I don’t care for the push tab versions (as they tend to leak and it’s a pain to hold it open during the entire transfer of liquid) and replaced all of mine with these.

Will this work with the original 2 gallon fermenters from many moons ago?
This would depend on the size of the spigot hole on your fermenter. It comes down to exactly "how" old your unit is. Cheers!
