Replacement spigot assembly for both our 2-Gallon LBK Fermenter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kelle from Spigot The big issue on the spigot is the washer. The washer is not malleable enough to seal. I leaking issues and had another fermenter with new spigot and washer and had the same leaking issue. I ended up using a food grade silicone washer that had a tighter fit and sealed perfectly the first time. Overall the spigot worked well the washer was the only issue. Only other suggestion is to add another 1 inch or so to the spout on the spigot. I do not use a bottling wand so another inch would make it a bit easier for bottling.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Don't waste your time. I've gone through several of these spigots since I got my 2 gallon kit. Every single one leaks.....some from the spout, some from the barrel seal, some from everywhere. Pic: Brand new spigot, just filled the barrel an hour ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Josh N from Seal Leaks I hadn't brewed in a couple years, so I bought a new spigot to ensure I had a good seal. Boy I was wrong. I brewed my batch, started filling the fermenter with ice and water. When I added the wort, I noticed it all over the counter. Upon cleaning up the mess, I noticed the spigot was leaking. I ended up having to dump it down the drain as I had no way to tighten it. After dumping it, I tried changing up the spigot seal, to no success. Not sure what to do now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by FLRHCARR from On Stop Off Either I don't get it, or I need to try it later. I put this petcock on my old fermenter, to use with the new wand to ease filling. I wasn't successful. I had to go back to using my old hose method. Which I was successful with. The problem that I was having, is that the beer stopped flowing after a few inches into the bottle. I did try having more angle, less angle & no angle. I couldn't get it to fill the bottle. So I modified the wand end (Which fits very well), to my filling hose, so I could bottle my brew. The nozzle is nice, in that it turns off or has a partial off (midway), which will facilitate faster bottling. That is, compared to my press & hold petcock. So if you're a fan of turn to flow spigot for bottling, this is a great one to have. Like all Mr. Beer items, it works very well, & expect to have it for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mark A C from Mr Beer enthusiast Mr. Beer is such a cool concept making a batch of suds on your own is like bringing into this world a new life lol, Think about it during the fermentation process you get to see the life that you've created and is manifesting. I my family have always been in some form in the making of either beer or wine my great uncle Joe had 15 acres in Placerville California of which 13 was wine grapes and as a child I would help him make wine. My sister works for North Coast brewery in Fort Bragg California so Mr Beer I hold as a passion dear to my heart I started my first batch the day before yesterday and on the 16th of September will be 2 weeks I look forward to tasting a successful first batch an ale I chose to do. So y'all if you ever thought of being your own brewmaster reach out to Mr Beer and give them a try you shelt be disappointed cheers to Mr beer and to all you DIY beer makers. Mark C

Rated 4 out of 5 by AAK11 from Easier bottling time! Just watch the gasket. This works for what it was intended for: to attach tubing for easier use with a bottling wand. I removed one star because the gasket that comes with it is either old and stiff or otherwise poor quality (as other reviews have mentioned, but I ignored). It slow dripped until I removed it, and added the old gasket from the previous spigot (which still works; I just wanted the tubing attachment).

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ken C from Washer issues This is my third year of using the Mr Beer brewing barrel. I love the product but I keep having the same issue with it, the gasket on the spigot is very hard to get a tight seal. It's frustrating and time consuming for the trial and testing the barrel for leaks. I've reordered several spigots just to get new gaskets. It would be nice if I could just reorder the gaskets by themselves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by John the Brewer from Long time Mr. beer fan. Been using my Mr. Beer brewer since my youngest Daughter gave it to me as a Christmas present. I have both a 1 gallon and 2 gallon and still use both of them. I use them for both Ale and Lager’s, and just brewed up the American Ale. Tastes great and is certainly enjoyable on a hot day here in Texas. I still have to get the Lager on and brewing.

How do we obtain new gaskets for the spigot?

Asked by: Leadfoot
At the moment, we only offer the gasket with the spigot and nut.

Will this work with the original 2 gallon fermenters from many moons ago?

Asked by: crabtruck
This would depend on the size of the spigot hole on your fermenter. It comes down to exactly "how" old your unit is. Cheers!
